Lucie deLaBruere

Lucie is an ambassador for creativity and innovation in our schools.  Her passion for learning through creating and making lead to the design of the first Create Make Learn Summer Institute in 2012.  She has built a community of creative team of educators who are equally committed to providing opportunities for more hands-on, minds-on learning for our students.

Lucie (a 40+ years veteran teacher) is committed to advancing digital equity across several domains.  Her TechSavvy Girls project has helped increase the confidence of young women and girls for over 20 years.  She is committed to bringing opportunities for creating and making to rural communities.  Lucie is a Google Certified Innovator, a Raspberry Pi Certified Educator and WeVideo ambassador.

Craig Lyndes

Craig has been been finding ways to increase student and educator access to technology since the days when he launched the first student-run BBS in Vermont.  He continues to empower educators as part of the Create Make Learn Team. Whether he is helping them build their own 3D printer or teaching them to solder,  he is always in high demand due to his patient and kind approach to helping educators grow in ways that will empower students.

Create Make Learn brings together an amazing team of talented creative educators, makers, and artists to mentor us, inspire us, and help us grow our skills in creating, making, facilitating, and designing powerful learning opportunities through creating and making.

Christina Smith is a maker educator who helps our youngest learners experience science, computer science, robotics, and  STEAM based learning.  She is an award winning science educator and has 35 years experience in Vermont education as a classroom teacher, VISMT Science TA, Tech Integration Resource Educator, and STEAM coach. She finds that helping teachers and their students figure out the Tech work flow is challenging but rewarding!  She recently retired from public school and is currently leads STEAM Residencies and supports After school LEGO Robotics.

Caty Wolfe started her education adventure as a certified art teacher and soon became a special ed teacher at a technical center where she discovered she had technical aptitude and a fascination with fixing hardware and helping teachers integrate.  This led her to be a PreTech Instructor at a Career and Technical Center with a focus on art and technology where she has integrated Design Thinking and Making into her curriculum and her students are always challenging her to push the boundaries.  Her newest adventure is as a K-8 technology integrator.

Shannon Walters is passionate about using technology and the arts to create, collaborate, communicate and connect in new ways. She brings with her years of experience integrating technology as a Teacher Librarian and Technology Integration specialist at The Integrated Arts Academy in Burlington.  Shannon is Co-Director for Governor’s Institutes of Vermont’s IT & Digital Media Institute. Recipient of the Vermont Outstanding Teacher Award, she is Technology Concerns Chair for the Vermont School Library Association.  

Darcie Rankin started her professional career as an electrical engineer, but found her true passion was for working with students when she had a chance to go into schools to speak about science and engineering.  She loves working with younger learners to engage them with hands on activities.  She strives to infuse her educational practice with student voice and choice as she encourages students to take risks, be creative, collaborate, play and have fun! Darcie is also a code.org elementary level facilitator for Vermont and enjoys connecting coding and robotics with the elementary learning experience
